SHINKEN SHIRAHADOME
The first section shows 14 basic techniques taken from the Bokuden Ryudaisho sabakigata and enhanced with variations on the themes of entering and direction (sabakigata). Acted out in a variety of sitting and standing positions focusing on the subtle hidden movements of taking the opponent's sword, using it to apply armbars or armlocks. Making use of the scabbard to prevent the weapon from being drawn is also shown. This is followed by actual 'sword catching' techniques demonstrating Soke Hatsumi's knowledge of bladed weapons.
